Literature Text
Just stay here,
In bed –or your chair.
I don’t care.
Hug your fears while
keeping them
at pole’s length.
Don’t worry ‘bout depth,
Because it doesn’t
Matter at all.
Nope. Not one bit.
Just drink ‘em down,
And swallow your anger
For every slice passed
And future drains.
Swallow your curare.
I know you hope we all
Die,
But you’re
the one who’s
skeleton
thin.
In bed –or your chair.
I don’t care.
Hug your fears while
keeping them
at pole’s length.
Don’t worry ‘bout depth,
Because it doesn’t
Matter at all.
Nope. Not one bit.
Just drink ‘em down,
And swallow your anger
For every slice passed
And future drains.
Swallow your curare.
I know you hope we all
Die,
But you’re
the one who’s
skeleton
thin.

Written on September 11, 2013. This poem was inspired thanks to a conversation with (let's see if I can get this to work) . In a way it's a companion piece to an AA slogan: "Anger is drinking poison and hoping the other person dies." And no, I'm not a friend of Bill W; I just admire his and his friends' work.
